English Fijian wedding
Lois and Tomasi got married at the local church and held their reception at Escrick Park, Yorkshire, in spring. It was a brilliant marquee wedding, with Fijian influences and lots of cake. The couple had chosen to embrace their Fijian and English heritage and blend it together in a marvellous Yorkshire English Fijian wedding day.
Bridal prep
Lois got ready at her parents home with her bridesmaids, and there was such a relaxed vibe. She wore a Charlie Brear two-pice, and looked so beautiful. She then walked the short trip to get to the ceremony. Just as the wedding party were arriving at the church the heavens opened. A quick stop to put up the umbrellas and all was well.
Tomasi wore a traditional Fijian wedding outfit made by his mother in Fiji , and looked really cool.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place at their local church in Wistow. The ceremony area was decorated with Fijian rugs, which was a perfect fusion of Fijian custom and English church ceremony. The ceremony began with several beautiful readings from friends and family, and finished with the couple walking back down the aisle with huge smiles. It was a wonderful ceremony, full of so much love and lots of cheer.
After the ceremony, we headed over to Escrick Park, which was a vision of the perfect English country wedding with a traditional canvas and pole marquee. Then we went down to the fields for the portrait photos, which I love doing. I got some stunning couples photos in the grounds of Escrick Park. The weather was finally on our side after a torrential downpour, the sun had made an appearance and fortunately seemed to be staying put for the rest of the day.
The reception
Lois and Tomasi chose to have their wedding at Escrick Park because of it’s relaxed and country vibe. Escrick Park is perfect for a peaceful and tranquil wedding, and it’s got such a lovely feel to it, especially at sunset where the golden sun is glowing.
Lois is a master cake baker and runs her own baking business, she had baked all the delicious desserts. The couple had chosen palm leaf plates and coconut shell bowls as their crockery. Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which was a feast of BBQ and salads. It was absolutely delicious. They had speeches after the dinner, which were so funny and also emotional.
The day was a unique celebration and was designed and put together so well. A fabulously fun wedding full of laughter and love.
